Oh, yes, Nolan.  This sunflower is really nice.

Is the stem missing?

Hope to get to do this one soon.

Thanks for a good lesson, Nolan.  It's a bit different than yours because I put the flower upside down and had no raw umber so my colors are off.  My blue background photographed as grey.

All in all, it's still makes me happy.

Thanks, Maria and KathyS.  Again, I learned enough to know that the next one will be much better.

Mea, I love your sunflower. It reminds me of the ones that grew in the marshy part of the lake where I grew up. O0

Thanks, Steve.  Hmmm... Now I remember a marshy area that had huge sunflowers growing there.  Next time I am back on Cape Cod, I'll have to check it out.  It was in the old historic part of the town, so it quite likely might still be there.

Mea:  Your sunflower is great.  The color is nice and bright.  You could add a touch of sunlight to the tips of the leaves.

Beautiful sunflower Mea.  O0   I love the way your brushstrokes in the background give an effect like rays coming from the flower!  :heeha:

Thanks, KathyK and Val.

Those diagonal brush strokes were a mistake that ended up looking good.
