I've heard so much about En Plein Air that I thought I'd give it a try.  I figured watercolor would be the easiest medium to use for my first attempt.

This stand of heleconia has taken over a corner of my herb garden, so it was the closest thing I came to and looked relatively easy to paint.

Well, the sun kept going in and out, so the colors kept changing.  I did the best I could.  I like it.  Your thoughts?

Mea, you managed your first en plein air painting really good. I like those nice warm colours.  :)

This is really good, Mea! I've only done plein air with acrylics. One day I'll give it a try with WC too - especially after seeing your beautiful one!
Cheers,
Sharon

Hey, Sista.  Wonderful job for your first. It's beautiful. You will have to do more, but I understand "changing colors". I tried the flower bed here at the Sr. apartments. Ha ha...don't have enough paint to make all of the colors!!  LOL
Yours is great. Waiting for 'more'.

Kathy, en plein air is a term for painting outdoors. Mea sat in the garden with the plant in front of her - she drew it and then painted it. It is one of the best painting exercises there is. Everybody must try it some time.
