Thanks, Denise.

I went to the new Fisher in Mapunapuna and looked at the choices and decided on the Sakura Koi kit with 24-colors. So light and compact.  I hope to get to use it soon.   May take it to Waikiki with me for my 2-night stay as I do my tour guide job, or next week to Kauai when Liz and I have a 2-night stay for a tour group there.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Glad you picked up a set! That's the same one I have too. Have fun with it! You'll have to let Liz try it too - maybe she'll get hooked ;)

(Isn't that new fisher store great?!)

Mea:  You have done a nice job for your first time outdoors.  You really need to work fast to keep the light and shadows.  I usually sketch the darks and shadows on a small thumb nail sketch.  Then you can always go back to it later.

Glad you got the Koi Mea.  That's what I have and I find the colors to have nice intensity for a travel kit.  Can't wait to see more!

Mea:  I found this set up for plein air painting.  It is on the Painted prism web site.  I do not know how to upload the articlebut you can go on the site and download it.  If someone can tell me how to do this.  I will send it.  I only know how to e-mail it.

Hi Kathy, just copy the site address from the address bar and paste in your post. Let me know if that didn't make sense!  :D

Thanks, Kathy.  I have already bought the one featured on Amazon, but bought it locally for a higher price. (SHOULD HAVE WAITED UNTIL I GOT HOME AND ORDERED ONLINE)
http://www.amazon.com/Sakura-XNCW-24N-Assorted-Watercolors-Sketch/dp/B001OVG40E/ref=sr_1_1?s=arts-crafts&ie=UTF8&qid=1465008291&sr=1-1&keywords=sakura+koi+watercolor+sets

I made a chart of the colors in the kit today.  Yes, Lynn, great colors, quite intense for such an inexpensive kit.  Definitely a very worthwhile investment.  So compact.

I used my Sakura watercolor kit today to practice plein air.  I painted the house across the street.

Next week I will be doing it for real in the field (on a ranch), so this was good practice.  I will NOT do a plein air that has buildings or other structures, will stick to lush landscapes.

Please make suggestions to make my next one better.

    Lovely painting Mea. What caught my eye immediately was the hedge in front of the brick wall which you painted so well. It is so realistic looking.  Patricia

I would soften the lines on the brick wall to make it sit behind the hedge a bit more. Beautifully done.

Mea:  Nice painting.  I agree that the bricks are to sharp.  Keep on painting.
