Yay for Rhoda!!!! Are they supposed to finish it at home and bring the finished version to the next class? Or will they finish it at the next class? Great lesson!
Cheers,
Sharon

Thanks, Sharon.  No we left them all drying in an empty closet.

Oh, Robynann, they are such a fun group.  We are one year into it and their improvement is incredible.

Val, Rhoda checks PB when she can, so she will be thrilled with your comment.

Thanks, Mez.  I see from your gallery that you are doing some pencil sketching.  We'd love to see you post more of your work.

Rhoda, this message is for you.  I am a little late in coming to the party but just wanted you to know what an excellent job you did on the fish.  It is so encouraging to see and I hope you will carry on the wonderful work with Mea as your guide.  Best wishes.   Patricia

So proud of my kupuna.  They all finished their paintings and did a great job.  They are done in acrylics on canvas panels (8 x 10").

Such a fun group to work with.

Thanks, everyone, for the positive comments on the last class.

Here's what I have planned for tomorrow.  It's back to basics - pencil drawing.

I am going to go over all the tools I have for graphite pencil drawing - let them work with different types of pencils, erasers, sharpeners so they can see the range available as I got them a grant to buy supplies.

This apple study shows one done with the Staedler lumograph pencils (top - round apple); Tombows drafting pencils (bottom); Derwent water soluable graphite (right side - brushed lightly with water.)  They can chose which one they want for their apple.

Will let you know how it goes.

How wonderful you managed to get grants for their art supplies!  O0 Such a treat for them.

It never hurts to go back to basics and refresh what you've learned.  ;D

Oh! Mea, you are such a wonderful motivator and asset to the senior citizens. Great news about managing to get the grant for them. Love your apples and I have no doubt that they are going to love this lesson.
