This lesson was a lot of fun for me, as I have limited experience with graphite powder and erasing to create negative space. I tend to view Nolan’s video first (or at least sections of it) to know what to expect, then I view again and draw along, pausing frequently. So my turtle took me closer to four hours, but it came out well. My wife and I used to live on a turtle sanctuary barrier island, so we find this kind of subject material appealing.
