This was an excellent class. I find that leaves are tricky and Nolan tackles them with skill and expertise. I picked up many tips from this lesson and highly recommend it.

I was confused at the beginning. I don’t know how the leaves were there and I don’t know what’s glazing. So I didn’t continue. I tried to go to the discussion board to ask questions but can’t find a button for comments.

Thank you for the feedback Shuying and welcome to the Paint Basket 🙂
1) Initial drawing – In the Background video at 0m53secs I explain how I got the drawing onto the canvas and how to mask off the leaves before you start painting.
2) Glazing – Glazing is where you lay a thin layer of paint down so the the colour underneath is still visible. I explain and show how to do glazing at 32m15sec into the Green Leaves video.
3) Asking Questions – Below the video is a link to the correct place on the forum (Under the Discuss This heading). Once there you can simply click the Reply button, then ask your question. Don’t be shy to ask questions. I am happy to help 🙂

It took me a little while to work out how to get a sketch of the image onto my canvas, once I worked that out, the course was easy to follow. I am impressed it is in three parts, as a learner it takes quite a lot of concentration, so it’s nice to be able to stop at a suitable point and start again when refreshed. It is excellent value for money, and the tutor makes it fun and relaxed. I am delighted to have found the site, and will be trying more courses in the near future. I haven’t quite finished my attempt, and doubt very much if I will have the confidence to post it, but I am really enjoying the process, which is what it is all about.
