Class Description

There is always sometehing very exhilarating about being up in the mountains early in the morning. The cool freshness of the air and the dew on the grass makes for a good start of the day. This is a scene in the Queenstown district, New Zealand South Island.

In this lesson you will learn:

1 how to paint the misty clouds
2 how to capture the mountain’s distant color perspective
3 how to paint the foothill shadows and highlights
4 how to paint the foreground grass and shadow.
5 how to simplify the trees

Painting knife,
Artist Paints: Clear Painting Medium, Titanium White, Cobalt Blue, Crimson, Cad Orange, Arylamide Yellow Light (Lemon Yellow)
Brushes: 40mm bristle Pastry type brush, 1/2″ (13mm) synthetic flat, #6 Filbert bristle, #6 bristle fan brush,6 flat bristle, #3 flat bristle, #2 small round bristle

    I have just started. Busy days.
    I have a program that converts photos to line drawings. Didn’t use it this time. Forgot all about it.
    I have just now converted the photo into a line drawing as a stand by. If you want to see the computerized sketch I will try and send it to you.
